CE/CME Credit Information
Continuing education is aimed at broadening or updating professional knowledge and skills. Mental health professionals are required to earn continuing education credit and the number of units you need depends on your license or certificate. We recommend going to your licensing board’s website to find information on your particular requirements.
The Institute for the Advancement of Human Behavior (IAHB) is pleased to offer continuing education credit hours to counselors, psychologists, social workers, nurses, physicians, and certain other healthcare professionals for our courses. Please see the course description pages for specific CE/CME information.
The Institute for the Advancement of Human Behavior (IAHB) has been approved to offer continuing education and continuing medical education (except where otherwise noted) by the following:
ALCOHOLISM & DRUG ABUSE COUNSELORS: Provider approved by CFAAP/CAADAC, Provider #4N-86-074-0117 for (1) CEH per hour attended. CAADAC is an ICRC member which has reciprocity with most ICRC member states.
COUNSELORS & MFTs: IAHB is approved by the State of Illinois Department of Professional Regulation (License #168-000119). This course meets the qualifications for MFTs as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (Provider # PCE 36). IAHB has been approved by the Texas Board of Examiners of Marriage and Family Therapists to provide CE offerings for MFTs. Provider Number 154.
NURSES: Provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, (BRN Provider CEP#2672) for 1 CE hour per contact hour.
The Institute for Advancement of Human Behavior accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.

ALSO NOTE: This advanced workshop includes descriptions, videotapes, audiotapes, and/or reenactments of actual therapy sessions. Some of the case material may contain graphic descriptions of violence, sexual activity, or other content which could be disturbing, especially to participant who themselves have had similar experiences. The workshop is intended for healthy professionals and advanced students, who participate in at their own risk. If you find portions of the program upsetting, or if you need assistance for any other reason, please notify the instructor or program coordinator.
Who provides the CE/CME credits?
CE/CME Credits will be offered through co-sponsorship between The Institute for the Advancement of Human Behavior (IAHB) and Psychological Flexibility Pty Ltd/Psychwire Australia Pty Ltd.
How are the CE/CME credits calculated?
One CE/CME credit is awarded for each 60-minute contact hour.
What are the requirements to obtain CE/CME credit?
The course must be attended in full. No partial CE/CME credit will be awarded.
CE/CME credit will be awarded upon completion of an exam with a score of 75% or better.
There is a $20 non-refundable processing fee for CE/CME credit. If you would like CE/CME credit but did not pay the fee when you registered, please contact us right away at email@example.com
Deadline: The post-course evaluation form and the $20 processing fee must be received prior to the last day of course access.
CE/CME certificates will be processed and emailed to you within approximately 10 days following the last day of course access.
Can I obtain a Certificate of Completion instead of a CE/CME Credits Certificate?
Yes, we will email you the Certification of Completion upon completion of the course. You may then print the certificate at your convenience.
What if I have trouble opening or printing my certificate?
Any computer with a PDF viewer will be able to open the attachment. PDF viewers include Adobe Reader, Apple Preview, and others.
If you are unable to open the document directly, then save the document to your desktop and open directly from there.
If you are still unable to open or print the document, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org and request to receive the certificate by standard mail.
Grievance Procedures for CE/CME Activities
Should a participant in any Psychological Flexibility Pty Ltd/Psychwire Australia Pty Ltd course be unsatisfied with the course, the participant should immediately contact our customer support team to register a complaint. Within five days, a customer support team member will contact the participant by email and/or phone and attempt to resolve the issue.
In the event that our customer support team is unable to resolve the issue, the issue will then be presented to the Executive Staff of Psychological Flexibility Pty Ltd/Psychwire Australia Pty Ltd.
The Executive Staff of Psychological Flexibility Pty Ltd/Psychwire Australia Pty Ltd will investigate and assess the issue from the perspective of the participant and every effort will be made to resolve the issue. If the issue is not resolved to the satisfaction of the participant, the participant will be offered a refund per the Refund and Cancellation Policy guidelines.
Course length and late registration
Course content will be released each week.
Late registrations are permitted, however, the course will still end on the scheduled date. This means that the later you register and begin the course the less time you’ll have to complete the course.
You will be able to access the course for 28 days after the final day of the course.
If you register on the 22nd day or later, then you’ll need to wait until the next launch date to begin the course.
Please note that you must complete the course content in the order presented – no jumping ahead.
Refund and cancellation policy
If you are unsatisfied with the course or become unable to complete the course, we offer a 100% money-back guarantee if you notify us within 7 days of the commencement of the course. While we can’t provide a refund after this point we’ll be happy to put your account on hold (issue credit) until you’re ready to take the course.
If Psychological Flexibility Pty Ltd /Psychwire Australia Pty Ltd finds it necessary to delay the start date of a course, all registrants will be notified by email and provided an opportunity to request a refund.
If Psychological Flexibility Pty Ltd /Psychwire Australia Pty Ltd cancels a course, participants will be notified via email and will be granted a refund in full.
Credit card payments will be refunded only to the credit card used for the purchase of the course.
The $20 CE/CME credit processing fee is non-refundable.
Is the course approved for PD with the Australian Psychological Society?
Yes, in Australia, each course we run is worth 3 PD hours per week for psychologists who are members of the APS.
These courses are designed for psychological health professionals, and are suitable for individuals who are licensed, interning, or training in the related fields including, but not limited to counselors, coaches, therapists, psychologists, psychiatrists, nurses, GPs, OTs, social workers, youth workers, undergraduate students, graduate students, and post-graduate students.

What is the Schedule for the courses?

The way the course will work is that it has been broken up into eight weeks and it is estimated that each week will take up to 3 hours to complete. Each week will be released one week at a time: The content for Week 1 will be released upon the commencement of the course; Week 2 will be released one week later; Week 3 will be released the following week and so forth, week by week, until Week 8 has been released.
At the conclusion of Week 8, the course will remain accessible for an additional 4 weeks. This extended access allows extra time to complete any unfinished work or to simply go back and review the content again.
If you start the course late or don’t complete the work for a given week before the next week begins, that’s O.K.. The previously released weeks remain accessible throughout the duration of the course, but the future weeks aren’t available until the scheduled week.
